Accelerating the Pathway
from Innovation to Adoption
The international GAINH Summit is a collaboration between EXCITE International and Health Innovation Netherlands (HI-NL). The summit aims to provide international insights for innovators, companies, academia, healthcare providers, payers, guideline organisations, notified bodies, FDA, MDR experts, and healthcare policy makers, regarding the local and global evaluation, market access, implementation, upscaling and reimbursement of health(care) technologies.
The summit will cover the entire range of health(care) technology including robotics, implants, medical tests, eHealth and AI algorithms. The summit provides unique opportunities to hear from and meet with senior leaders coming from all stakeholder organisation involved in this health technology adoption process, both from the U.S. and Europe.
The summit aims to unravel existing and persistent confusion and misunderstanding that surrounds the evaluation and adoption process of health(care) technology on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. You can expect to hear about new initiatives, recent and horizon. And collaboration opportunities that are intended to streamline the pathway from idea and technology prototype to implementation, upscaling and reimbursement, through early direct engagement with key stakeholders in the health technology development cycle. The summit will offer invaluable insights into how to get European technologies into U.S. markets, how to get U.S. technologies into Europe and how to get technologies into their own countries.
You will hear directly from experts and companies that have successfully participated in and used the EXCITE International and HI-NL processes to expedite their healthcare technology development, evaluation and implementation process. As examples of a comprehensive and well-informed approach, that ensures earlier access by patients and civilians to impactful technologies and reduces the high risk of downstream rejection by payers of regulatory-approved technologies.

GAINH 2021 is organized by Hyphen Projects. Hyphen Projects is a specialized project office that initiates, develops and organizes career fairs, networking events, websites and other formats for the Life Sciences and related sectors. Our projects, originating from our own initiative but also in collaboration with other parties or at the request of clients, aim at bringing professionals and organizations within the Life sciences field together. We specifically strive to connect science to business.
GAINH 2021 is an EXCITE International Summit in collaboration with Health Innovation Netherlands.
EXCITE International and Health Innovation Netherlands (HI-NL) closely collaborate to work towards the common goal of helping innovative medical technologies become accessible to patients, civilians and care providers through a more timely and streamlined process of evaluation, market access, implementation, adoption and reimbursement. This is achieved by ensuring that all relevant stakeholders who are involved in the life cycle of medical technology, are as early as possible involved in this process. Both organizations are focused on changing the landscape of the medical technology space and believe that innovative ideas that are transformed into medical technological innovations, have the power to shift the patient, civilian and care provider experiences. Through their collaboration, EXCITE International and HI-NL are creating the bridge between the North American and European medical technology sectors, where stakeholders and their experiences can easily be exchanged.

Health Innovation Netherlands
Health Innovation Netherlands (HI-NL) is a multi-stakeholder infrastructure where patients, doctors, healthcare-providers, methodologists, CE-experts, entrepreneurs, insurers and regulatory authorities all contribute to deliver better medical devices, faster. Health innovations can contribute to better, more cost-effective healthcare. However, bringing valuable and sustainable innovations to users can be challenging. HI-NL facilitates early dialogue between innovators and relevant healthcare system stakeholders in order to connect medical technology more effectively to societal needs, and to stimulate development and implementation of effective solutions. HI-NL offers a Round Table service to innovators developing medical devices, including but not limited to diagnostics, robotics, apps, and e-health. Through the Round Table service innovators receive unique early insights into stakeholder perspective on their innovation and the path they will have to follow to bring their idea successfully to the market. HI-NL launched in January 2020, led by professors Maroeska Rovers (Radboudumc) and Carl Moons (UMC Utrecht) and is actively supported by key organizations in the Dutch healthcare system (including policy makers, payers, healthcare professionals and patients).
